This belongs in the tech forum... ;)But have you tried blowing the fan on the card off with some compressed air (or your mouth)? :)

I have the same card and sometimes it overheats too.First of all, open the case and use a spray-can to remove all the dust has formed. The definitive solution to the problem would be to improve the cooling of the case. Ideally, there should be one or more blowing-in fans at the front-end of the case, and one or more blowing-out fans at the back-end of the case.Internal cables etc. should be "harnessed" as much as possible to avoid obstructing the airflow.Meanwhile, you can download ATI Tray Tools (google for them) and slightly downclock your card, reducing the frequency of GPU and memory. If you need help with the settings, just ask.Marco

Hey Marco, yes, can i ask how do i reduce de GPU freq and memory? i already downloaded ATI TRAY TOOLS somehow i cant find this options though. thank you all

Right click on the tray icon, then choose Hardware->Overclocking Settings. Here, there are 2 values: Core Speed and Memory Speed. Lower both (mine default at 378 and 338, I lowered them to 360 and 324).Then, be sure to check "Include clocks in profile".Finally, save the profile (click on the floppy-disk icon at bottom right) and be sure that "Load selected profile at startup" is selected.Marco

What makes you think that it is the video card? Is the fan clear of fluff balls? If not, clear fluff balls first. Is the fan spinning freely? If not, buy a replacement fan for $10-$20.Gary

Do yourself a favor and go here:http://www.arctic-cooling.com/vga1.phpI have used the VGA-rev3 model for the 9800 Pro.If you look at their home page. it's the bottom right one.I've used it on a half dozen customers 9800 pro's, works well, easy to install. Just push the old plastic heatsink mounting pins out.The cooler come with silicon & silver oxide paste. For $22.00 you will never overheat your vid card again.BTW, the new fan looks like a high end vid card, much larger but quiet.
