KSEA AI Runway Incursion........Be Careful Out There

Featured Replies

Good day to all,After landing at KSEA and clearing the active runway I watched a A321 takeoff on SeaTac Rwy 34R and a B737-800 takeoff on rwy 16L both rolling at the same time. For those unfamiliar with the airport that is the same piece of concrete and things got a little exciting. They both rotated short of mid point with one passing just under the other. FSX ATC may be asleep at the wheel on occasion so keep your heads up.............. lolJayDub

FSX ATC may be asleep at the wheel on occasion so keep your heads up.............. lolYeah right, that would mean more ATC programming in FSX, which is a well-established fact that hasn't been done.Funny story though.

It appears that the complaints about the ruway lockouts in FS2004 have been heard and answered.FSX can turn airports quickly based upon changes in weather/ winds.Unfortunately, like most things when we demand MS/ACES make changes - we haven't considered the consequences.AI aircraft are being assigned to a runway - and a long taxi route or approach is making that AI aircraft take so long to get to the runway that aircraft assigned later to the opposite end are already in position. We got the fix people asked for - we just didn't realize the impact.

I watched a 747 take off and fly disapear into a big hillside, pretty funny, perhaps OP is onto something.

I really, really wish we had a system like the FS2004/FSX approaches for departures. There are so many airports world wide where the default AI turn into terrain. Hardly any flights from SVMI to the south ever make it.

You have to keep an eye out for airport ground traffic too!I landed at KMEM earlier today, was on rollout, and watched with some amusement as a truck scooted across the runway just ahead of me. Yeah, I've seen a truck on the runway too. I wish I could get rid of just those, but it's all or nothing. All I really want is the pushback tugs, the bagage trucks, and the fuel trucks. The other vehicles roaming around the airport just get in the way. Anyone know of a way to get rid of those extra trucks?
