August 15, 20205 yr When talking to P2A and forgot to unpause the simulator, P2A should respond back "<call sign> your simulator is currently paused. Please unpause and say again. August 16, 20205 yr It'd be really nice if P2A at least had some basic recognition for "Mayday" and "Pan-Pan" in the grammar. I know other threads and other folks have talked about full handling of emergencies, and while that would also be nice, a good first step would be to mute P2A from sending "<Callsign> expedite climb to flight level 230" and similar guidance after having heard "Mayday" or "Pan-Pan" from the flight. For clarity, my user story would be "As a pilot, I would like P2A to stop sending flight directions after I have declared a Mayday or Pan-Pan situation so that I don't get overloaded with input while dealing with an emergency." I'd like the interaction to be something like: Pilot: Los Angeles Center, Swoop 437, Pan-pan, pan-pan, pan-pan. We have loss of thrust in one engine, will advise. ATC: Swoop 437, Los Angeles Center, we acknowledge your Pan-pan. Current altimeter your location 2 9 . 8 3. Standing by. (ATC then stays mute hereafter.) or: Pilot: Los Angeles Center, Swoop 437, Mayday, mayday, mayday. We have cabin decompression and damage, will advise. ATC: Swoop 437, Los Angeles Center, we acknowledge your Mayday. Current altimeter your location 2 9 . 8 3. Standing by. (ATC then stays mute hereafter.) -c
