August 15, 20205 yr Hey, I'm currently looking for a joystick to get for MSFS and I wanted to know if there is any difference between the Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas One and the Hotas 4? The Hotas One is currently not available so I was wondering if I could just get the Hotas 4 instead and install the corresponding driver. Are there any differences between those two joysticks at all? If you have any other recommendations, feel free to leave them below! Thanks guys
August 15, 20205 yr WELCOME to AVSIM! As far as I can tell it's just the differences between the two consoles (XBOX One and PS4) and how the buttons are labelled (A,B,X,Y or the PS symbols) and their default mapping. I own the HOTAS X and that has a two position switch on the front of the joystick part of the base near to where the USB cable comes out. That switches between PS3 and PC. The joystick surrounds and accents are red on mine, white for the 1 and blue for the 4. As you appear to be asking about driver installs I'm assuming you are using a PC in which case any of them with the appropriate PC driver should work. Of course you would be able to remap the buttons to suit your requirements. I've had my HOTAS X for a good three years or so now and it has not failed me yet - a good budget stick and throttle combo in my opinion. Here's AVSIM member Chock's review of the HOTAS X Mark Robinson Part-time Ferroequinologist Author of FLIGHT: A near-future short story (ebook available on amazon) I made the baby cry - A2A Simulations L-049 Constellation Sky Simulations MD-11 V2.2 Pilot.
