8 hours download time...

So as I suggested the in the preload thread about bad download speeds. Mine just finished downloading the 91GB in 8 hours !!!

The slowest download I have ever experienced so far on any game on release date.

I have 100Gb internet at home.

Imagine tomorrow when all of Europe will be downloading the game.

I mostly got stable 45Mbps through out the download of the sim.

So thanks Microsoft for the potato download speeds !

I have the running suspicion that all the people who were trying to be "clever" and "moved" to Kiribati, caused this.

The first 10/20 gigas where slow for me since they are made up of a huge amount of small files. Each is downloaded and then decompressed before going ahead with the next. This was not pushing the download speed to its maximum.

Now it is downloading much bigger fs-base chunks and the download speed is close to max (800/900 Mbps on a 1 Gbps fiber connection).

Decompressing these big chunks is killing my poor i7 3770k, steady at 90/95%!
