Simple performance boost - 23,000 Files askew no more

For those that don't already know and I realise that there are many that do. For 23,000 reasons defragment your FSX Partition as soon as you have installed FSX.I installed FSX on a brand new and empty partition. After the install I checked the partition with my defragger (O&O Version 8) and I had just under 23,000 files fragemented. x( Defragging will not only decrease load times but increase performance times by reducing the head hunting load. Yup, it takes a while but it doesn't cost anything. Another performance boost for those with a reasonably powerful processor, compress your FSX partition as it speeds up I/O. As far as I know the transition to increased I/O speed for compressed drives comes into effect with any CPU of 3000GHZ or above. Some member more in the know may care to further refine the exact trade off point. At long last FSX is available from retail stores in the land of Oz thank goodness.:-jumpy
