August 19, 20205 yr I was changing my rolling cache to 100gb, after realizing that was a bad idea, I waited for about an hour before deciding to abort. I closed FS and deleted the rollingcache.ccc file, which many people had said would be the fix. After which, I opened up FS2020 again, when it checked for updates, it found a new patch called "fs-base-0.1.74.fspatch" - I'm having an issue where it gets to 242mb downloaded then it restarts into this endless loop. This is a gyazo of the issue: https://gyazo.com/4932ad172543d90cc468c427be16907f Any fixes?
October 2, 20205 yr The fix is stupid and Microsoft needs to fix their servers, but to get it to work I had to set my ethernet adapter to 10 Mbps and full duplex. You can do so under Device Manager and find your Ethernet Controller then under Properties or Advanced go to where you can set the speed and take it off of Auto Negotiation and set it to 10 Mbps & Full Duplex then start your download. It will look like it is going to restart a few times but trust me just let it go about an hour later and I had that massive 1.8.3 patch downloaded. It's working for me I will keep you updated. I wonder (having a little knowledge in this subject) Have the compressed the files so much that they are now having issues with corruption of the data forcing the reset on the last file or is it the servers and their connection that's the issue. Please Can somebody come back to us on this. Even we don't know or you might be correct is better than nothing and at least we know you are trying to move forward. It really annoys me that large companies hide behind a wall of silence when thing don't go to plan ( and the often don't) Own up and lets work together to get a workaround till you fix the issue. Every body is a happy bunny then. PS the down load is at 6% on fs-base-0.1.61.fspackage.002 which is more than it has done in the last 24hrs. After 2hours its still going I have also Altered the max frame rate of the sim to 20 FPS within the NVIDIa Settings . so it no longer knocks the smoke out of my graphics card Edit
