  1. Run setup? I only have 2 setup files in that zip, setup_linux_sh and setup_windows.bat. If I run setup_windows.bat a command prompt opens with 8 option to choose from. And then what... (the wiki op Github doesn't make more sense either)?
  2. I'm still looking for the option to collapse the topics, hiding the text on the first post below the topic title. Now my scroll finger starts to hurt... Bug: Couldn't get the cursor out of a quote when editing it...
  3. Click your profile name on the top right, a drop-down menu will show, there you have the "Mark all content as read" now. Took me a while to find out where they hidden it. Also, on top of the sub-forum you choose there is a "Mark forum as read button". Right side of the page counter.
  4. Update on this: I now have permanently Tobi2 as name for my headtracker instead of TrackIR. It also shows a picture of a Tobi instead of a TrackIR. But unlike before where my TrackIR didn't work when MSFS 2024 detected it as a Tobi, it now does work. Secondly, this morning I wanted to change one little thing on my Thrustmaster Warthog only to find out that it would give a wrong device each time I used the search input to see if it worked as intended. Then i noticed that it also shows a Tobi headtracker as device picture but the name is stil Thrustmaster Combined. Something is messed up.
  5. The evidence that it exist is clearly visible in comparable screenshots and video's posted in this thread. Period !!
  6. Shimmering comes from colour switching on the edges of the object you're looking at. If your view is fixed, there is no colour switching on the edge of the object, hence no shimmering. This does not mean that things like powerlines and fences are looking good, they are at a distance only a pixel wide so they can still be broken depending on the nearby colour they have the moment you fix your view. Straight 100% horizontal lines are OK but once they are not 100% horizontal things get messed up. But it all becomes worse the moment you look around (or move) and certainly with a headtracker since each slight movement of your head results in a slightly shifted view, making that the fines lines on edges need to change colour with the colour just beside the object resulting in shimmering.
  7. No wheels (not zoomed in) on both the smaller aircraft. Only a tiny little bit zoomed in, both smaller aircraft magically are provided with undercarriage. OLOD at this moment: 100
  8. Day before yesterday when entering the cockpit my TrackIR wasn't working although I had a green detection light and a blue sim connection light on it. At the same time I was greeted with a message that I had to center my headtracking (doesn't mention which headtracking device) which didn't work. Went into the settings / controllers only to discover that my TrackIR was detected as a Tobi...but... I don't have a Tobi!! Only way out was quit to desktop and restart the sim. Then TrackIR was TrackIR again and it worked as before.
  9. Doesn't need to be on the first real go. Played around with it already for a while but yesterday when entering the cockpit my TrackIR wasn't working although I had a green detection light and a blue sim connection light. At the same time I was greeted with a message that I had to center my headtracking which didn't work. Went into the settings only to discover that my TrackIR was detected as a Tobi. Only way out was quit to desktop and restart the sim. Then TrackIR was TrackIR again and it worked.
  10. Using the -FastLaunch option from clicking the icon to the main menu takes "in general" between 04:40 and 05:00 minutes. The sim takes a very long time to go through the "Activating Packages" part. I just wonder why, it only started taking so long after the SU4 update. With or without community folders makes no difference (just ran another test). Before SU4 update the sim got loaded generally around the time the bush plane lands and the camera zooms in on the deer. After the SU4 update I now have to sit through the entire scenery show at least twice. No clue why. MSFS 2024 installed on a NVMe drive Samsung 980 Pro.
  11. Nothing changed in my graphics settings after the update so that ain't it.
  12. Never flew a mission or career. Only free flight. Experienced it in the Cessna 152, 3 times in a row after updated to SU5. Before SU5 and from 2020 onwarts, not a single engine failure.
  13. So instead of a performance increase it's the opposite. More power needed for the same visuals. And that is what I experience.
  14. I just quote myself so people who think all of a sudden the PC or PSU or whatever it the problem can read it again. The above says it's not because if it was the same would apply to running DCS also.
  15. That's not the problem. After the first malfunction I raised fuel to the max. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/c152-aircraft-system-failure-engine-malfunction-error/759514
  16. Updated to SU5 and since I fly the Cessna 152 a lot for some sightseeing and short flights and since it was still selected after my last flight in SU4, I made a short trip (less than 20nm) in it after the SU5 update. Much to my amazement the engines cut out after around 10nm, the prop came to a stop and I got an engine malfunction warning message. Oh, where did that come from? I never had one single engine malfunction since 2020 up until now with 2024 SU4 in any airplane and certainly not the Cessna 152. Checked some settings, all the same as before. Re-flight, same flight again and again after +/- 10nm the same happened, engine malfunction. Hmmm... checked fuel quantity etc, all good. Switched to the Cessna 172, no problem, no engine malfunction, switched back to the 152, same issue again, that's 3 times in row. Started a search here, didn't find anything regarding the engine malfunction so did a Google search and this pointed to the https://forums.flightsimulator.com/ forum where it's mentioned at the start of the SU5 beta. So... a bug crept in and hide itself.
  17. Dealing with the same thing. CPU "AND" GPU run quite a bit hotter than pre SU5 and this with the same settings. Noticed it by the sound of my ventilators which went up, only then I checked temps which confirmed why. Running a 3080Ti with updated thermal pads. A year or 2 ago same thing happened in DCS, after an update things ran hotter, needed to wait for another update to go back to normal (or what it was before). Checked DCS after running a hotter SU5 flight and there the temps where as before so it's certainly not the PC.
  18. I second that, however, FS Realistic (or pro or +) is nothing special imho. Just a bunch of extra camera head movements which I find utterly annoying, as most of the cabin sounds.
  19. The question is WHY? Not enough bandwidth somewhere in between your PC and the MS server? And nothing you can do about that. For me the problem is that it's simply not reliable "all the time".
  20. Wasn't 310.5x already 4.5?
  21. Tried it also a while back (original post on that forum is from the 06-02-26) just to see how my 3080ti would deal with. Nice (fake) FPS boost but lots of tearing and artifacts. Uninstalled.
  22. You didn't loose your internet connection, MSFS lost the connection to it's server. Instead of the message that there is no connection to the internet, the better message would be that it lost the connection to the MSFS server.
  23. Just downloaded and installed (so no streaming) and flew a bit over Antwerp. Again (and again and again and again) PG just doesn't deliver. Way too much melted stuff at various locations throughout the city and on top of that ugly gray textures. I live there so I know how it "should look", texture wise, quite a bit of stuff is just off. Not impressed, if this was payware I would ask for a refund.
  24. Here we already go: Ron: turn various settings up from low to medium, see what it looks like, and so on Ryan: for now I'd start at HIGH preset with a TLOD of 200 and OLOD 100 and see how that goes.
