August 19, 20205 yr Yesterday I thought I'd have a go in the Cessna Longitude. Started at the gate and had to start it from cold learning as I went. Started the APU, spun up the engines, set the lights etc. Got taxiing clearance and got myself on the runway. Once another aircraft had exited, I was given clearance to take-off. I decided to do a rolling start and gave it the beans. It started running down the runway but it just wouldn't get off the ground. The aircraft felt like I had a couple of elephants in the back. It maxed out at about 150-160 knots but wouldn't budge. Given I can drop right into the Longitude on the runway already started and setup and it launches like a rocket, what did I miss? I didn't think you needed to mess around with fuel mixture on the larger jets. Surely I wouldn't have been able to move if I didn't have the fuel pumps on. Thinking about it, maybe I didn't confirm visually that both engines were running before taxiing - it certainly sounded like they did! 😐 I guess I'll redo it again tonight to just confirm. Just curious if anyone else knows what may have been the issue? Edited August 19, 20205 yr by tronied
August 19, 20205 yr Just guessing because I haven't flown the Longitude yet, but did you adjust pitch trim? You might need some nose up trim and if you're starting from cold and dark, the trim might be zeroed. August 19, 20205 yr Author Ok, I'll check that tonight when I try the same thing again. It's all a learning experience. Thanks! 😊
