It's just me or is there something wrong with the lightning

I have never tried flying into a storm in reallife so I cannot compare the realism but the lightning effect in FS2020 bugs me. The lightning strikes are far too many, and also the fadeout of the light flash seems way too slow to me.

It's a minor complaint really but it just drives me nuts when I'm giving myself a good challenge by setting up a storm to fly in.
