787 FPS, anyone else having issues?

Featured Replies

Haven't seen much talk about the 787, maybe since it's the max $$$ package.  Anyway, anyone else with it notice really poor FPS?  I can get a solid 28-30+ in ever other aircraft including 320 and 747 on the ground even in poor weather with traffic at big airports like EGLL.  The 787 turns into a dog, like a PMDG in FSX but without all the nice system modeling.  Same ground conditions drops to occasional 23-24fps lows, and it doesn't get better when in the air so it seems to definitely be the plane and not a combo of plane and ground stuff like some of the other aircraft.

I have a 2070 super and at LAX on ultra 1080p, I get as low as 14 fps with any large jet and complex weather. It starts evening out after about 2 minutes at about 18 fps, but still drops when turning corners. I lose about 3 or 4 more frames from dusk to dawn.   I'm a bit disappointed.  But after buying FB Denver I actually get a few more frames than Asobo Denver so here hoping 3PDs can optimize scenery and aircraft better than Asobo. My biggest worry is how terrible AI traffic is and how bad it impacts frame rates.  I had to turn AI down to 20 at any big airport.

I know some people are having issues with it, but I found I actually get better performance with real world traffic enabled vs AI on 15 and only for GA or commercial not both at the same time.  That's while getting a lot more actual traffic activity going on as well.  I don't think I ever actually heard any ATC calls while using AI traffic at 15.  There was a ton with live and I was getting better FPS I was surprised.  Guess there just needs to be some work done on the 787 and other jets.  The others definitely have a hit as well vs the GA stuff, but the 787 was a whole new level of hit that I wasn't expecting.

I have never actually seen the AI do anything in offline mode.  It just sits at the gates or parking.  Really unhappy with AI, ATC and no live weather/inaccurate live weather over the us. It will get better it's only been 7 days.

I wonder if the MFD refresh rates can be lowered as they seem to be the foremost frame killer in the 747. When the screens are turned off and black the frames go up from 30 to over 40 for example.
