August 25, 20205 yr Well, finally after a lot of trial and error with the Garmin 1000, I successfully "shot my first ILS in MSFS"! I was used to doing it in P3d, but I couldn't get this Garmin to work exactly as I wanted. I did a simple flight with 3 waypoints from KABE (Allentown) to KERI (Erie) in a Diamond DA62. I found that my success came from the following: Watching as many tutorials as you can to get all the details together Reading the forums both here and on MSFS' forum Doing a simple flight plan to begin with Creating a more detailed flight plan with waypoints Being patient and keep trying. It comes together. The Garmin works. Getting a little success like this with a new sim makes you want to experiment with all of the planes and all of the navigation in the sim. I still love the VFR flying but there are times you just want to take a flight above the weather and have the capability to land in ANY kind of weather. Stan
August 25, 20205 yr Great job! I was able to finally figure out how to partially read IFR plates and get some information translated into the G1000. It was definitely pretty cool to watch the G36 nail a glide slope onto KPIT 28L and pick up the yoke for the final 200 feet. Now practice it with terrible visibility to see if you can trust it! i7-10700k (OC at 5.05MHz) | EVGA 3090 FTW3 (24GB) | G.Skill RipJaws V Series 32GB RAM (Effective 3200MHz) | 1TB SSD M2 (Samsung EVO) | Corsair 850W Gold P/S | MSI MAG CoreLiquid 240R | MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Edge WiFi | Logitech Yoke and Throttle Quad | Logitech Saitek Rudders | Logitech Switch Panel | Thrustmaster T.Flight 4 HOTAS | HyperX Cloud Flight S Headset | 43” LG 43UN700B 4k monitor | HP Reverb G2 (VR) Selling EVGA 2080 Super Ultra XC (8GB) - used for 3.5 months - PM me for info if interested!
