Saving Aircraft Settings

Featured Replies

Is there a way to save my settings for a particular aircraft? Specifically I'm talking about my tail number / callsign and my failure settings. It's a pain to have to manually set these every single time I take a specific plane out for a flight.

Ideally I should be able to set and SAVE these per plane, since different planes would have different callsigns and failure settings (for example, twin vs. single engine planes).

I already Googled the topic, but found nothing. Thanks for any suggestions you might have! I'm totally cool with editing config files if that is what I must do.

I agree that going back in and resetting the settings for the aircraft is a bit of a pain.  I don't know of a way to have it save that information, unfortunately.  Hopefully that will be implemented..

Could you provide a code snippet and the file I need to edit? Thanks.

Inspired by something posted in a different thread, I did some digging and found out how to save per-plane tail numbers!

You need to open the aircraft.cfg file in the appropriate aircraft folder and edit the following line (using your own number of course)

[FLTSIM.0]
atc_id = "N12AB" ; tail number

I didn't see anything for failures, however. I'll look in some other folders and see what is there.

hmm cant find that dang post , but lemme try to describe.

you need to find the correct aircraft.cfg file

important, always first make a copy of if for savekeeping!!!

all the aircraft are in the onestore folder  , locate it via a search.

in the cfg the atc-id can be easily changed.

hope you get it, good luck.

edit hehe you found it, thats the line that has to be changed
