August 27, 20205 yr Well, in way this is kind of cool but in other obvious ways it was very bad. I mapped my joystick last night and did a test flight this morning. I got most of it correct except I accidentally put a negative axis into my throttle control which I don't think it was actually needed. So when I throttle back it engages engine reverse. I set my test circuit at SLC and took off uneventfully. Other then my joystick being way over sensitive it was working properly. However as I climbed 1000' above AGL and raised the flaps I throttled back. However when I did so the engines started making a horrible sound I don't want to hear again and the plane instantly stalled and dived and spun right into the ground. Not enough altitude to save it unfortunately! Most planes you physically can't engage thrust reverse in flight and have well engineered (sometimes) lock outs that prevent accidental engagement in flight. However a few planes over the years used reverse thrust in flight. IL62 and older DC-8's come to mind. Some others probably can do it as well. So perhaps this feature will benefit those older models but yes some sort of virtual lockout might be needed in the sim!
