October 30, 200619 yr In FS9 it was possible to simulate looking up/down by using the eyepoint up/down functions (CTRL+backspace/enter keys, I guess) when in 2D panel mode. So, when the runway was barely visible, one could simply "lower" the view gradually. The same keys in FSX do what they say: they rise the eyepoint or lower it.So does anyone know whether the old FS9 function is still somehow available?Andreas Andreas, LOWW - Nihil sumus et fuimus mortales. October 30, 200619 yr Did you try CTRL-Q and SHIFT-CTRL-Q ??Jozef K. http://homepages.onsnet.nu/~jkusters/signature.jpg

The raise/lower commands of 2D are different than the VC commands but even when using the 2D commands ( I forget what they are at the moment ) they move you AND the 2D panel up and down together...pretty much negating what you usually want to do, see OVER the panel... That change, along with the removal of the side/back/diagonal view bitmap capability, the FixedWindowxx specification, has made the 2D panel a much, much less than " as real as it gets" environment :( Paul
October 30, 200619 yr As stated above CTRL Q works like Shift Enter for FS9. It doesn't do anything to the Panel> Unfortunately MS has really screwed over the 2D world in>FSX.> The raise/lower commands of 2D are different than the VC>commands> but even when using the 2D commands ( I forget what they are> at the moment ) they move you AND the 2D panel up and down> together...pretty much negating what you usually want to do,> see OVER the panel...>
November 15, 200619 yr Unfortunately these settings are lost when you change to any other view...which is very disturbing and almost useless.
