August 29, 20205 yr Strait to the point. 40+ years ago I lived and worked in Columbus Ohio where I also obtained my SEL VFR rating from an FBO at KCMH, Port Columbus International. My job was running a branch of the family business, main office located in Louisville Ky. I frequently flew back and forth between KCMH and KLOU (Bowerman Field) in both day and night conditions. I got checked out in and flew Grumman Tigers and Cheetahs, as well as Piper Warriors but for yesterday’s flight I chose the 172 with g-1000 because that was the aircraft I was most familiar with in Flight Simulator. Yesterday I decided to recreate that flight to see what I could see. My verdict? Overall it looks much the same, very much the same as I remember it. It looked very much like a video would look from the cockpit. Most of not all landmarks (rivers, hills/valleys, POIs) we there and easily seen. Perfect? Nope, but a game changer none the less A host of technical issues remain, but being technical they can all be solved. And none of the issues keep me from enjoying it right now and for that reason and others it more than meets and exceeds my expectations. My 2 cents, -Braun PS I also remain an avid P3d fan who flys ver 5.0 and many PMDG products
