Emergency landings

Featured Replies

I have often wondered in FS9, why the lack of EL procedures with ATC and i thought for sure this would be implemented somewhat in FSX but sadly it doesnt seem to be.Am i missing something here guys.I know it might seem difficult for ATC to handle this sort of procedure but apoun concidering it i didnt run into any real problems IE.. Make emergency landing call to ATC, get directed to nearest airport with landable rwy, ATC gives the go around to all incoming aircraft for runway selected such and such. Or even haveing to select your own airport via ATC and then calling in an Emergency to them requesting a landing wouldnt be so hard, or once again am i missing something?Any ideas on this?jason

Oh yes forgot one thing, perhaps this is what really got me thinking about this again. Theres i mission where you have to make an Emergency landing, i wont mention the mission as it will be a spolier, dont want to ruin the fun for those of you who have not flown this one yet.thanks again everyone.jason

You can kind of do that already...divert to a nearby airport. On a GPS-equipped plane, hit "NRST" on your GPS, for a list of nearest airports...and then divert to one of them. Now, if you want more detail, an actual ATC declaration of emergency option or something like that, then that looks like something that could be done using the Missions Editor, or short of that, something that might be able to be modded into the ATC system via add-on (by means of the SDK).RhettAMD 3700+ (@2.5 ghz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (94.47), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian
