That looks like default FSX to me Luigi,That why there is much ado about landclass AND texture replacment/renaming going on.The snow was the first one I did. Texture renaming is not for the lighthearted and its a lot of work. There is probally another way (maybe the terrain.cfg) but everything I've done (renaming & substititing) was an interm fix until GEpro (example) and FSX Ultimate terrain as available. I mention those two simply as I have had nothing but excelent quality AND support from both. Here is some more reading for you.http://jonpatch.wordpress.com/2006/10/27/d...ith-the-desert/I linked to John Patches' blog, as he has put a few links regaring the subject together.Regards'Garett

Hi Luigi, the second image you're showing appears to contain an unrealistic juxtaposition of dry and moist land class textures. A better land class file should help with that. The blocky shadows and small squares in the first and third image are a combination of a couple of things: limited mesh resolution, uniform texture content (ice or desert without features), terrain shader (which seems to have changed from FS9), and the overlay of the detail1.bmp file as a generic "bump map" for all ground textures (visible as small squares). The issue is much less pronounced by increasing terrain mesh detail. However, simply moving the slider to 10m or 1m doesn't help because the display engine will just do a linear interpolation. What you need is more "roughness" which means you actually need to add high-res mesh files.Below is a comparison of the Matterhorn area: default mesh first then an added LOD11 (19-m) mesh file. Same settings with mesh slider at 10 meters. Further enhancements could be achieved by less uniform textures and, perhaps, changes to the detail1.bmp file. Cheers, Holger http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/160219.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/160220.jpg
