Youtube on my 2nd monitor is not behaving during flights

Featured Replies

I've noticed that my 1920x1080 2nd screen doesn't play youtube well at all when im out flying in MSFS. The video lags, the sound isnt syncing with the video etc. For it to become fluid I need to go to like 360p... I'm running a 2080TI rog strix from Asus that is overclocked. My cpu is a i7-6700k at 4.4ghz (oc with ht on).

Anyone else experiencing this problem?

I can also mention that both my main monitor (3440x1440 ultrawide) and my 2nd monitor uses the displayports on the gfx card. Im on a 500mbps fiber line, and the bandwith is fine.

I hope I can explain this. I have been running FS2020 without a hitch. I do have dual monitors with a lot of desktop items on each monitor. Dell monitor and a LG second monitor. AMD RX580 Running 1920X1080 75hz on both. Operating Ryzen 7 16gb Memory 8 graphics. On my Primary Dell screen one of my desktop items is the FS2020 icon to start the game. Great has always worked. Opens on the Primary Monitor and I play the game. Until recently....maybe an update? I dont know.

I click on the icon.....everything goes crazy!!!! As it opens (and it plays fine) it takes over the entire Primary monitor...throws all the desktop icons to the secondary monitor and on the second monitor it changes from 1920X1080 75hz  to 3840X1080 to 60hz. and under settings windows 10 no longer shows or detects DUAL MONITORS but only the secondary monitor. When done flying I ma still trying to get my old DUAL MONITORING and setting back....I can get it to MIRRORING and for the life of me troubled in obtaining my clean dual monitoring back on correctly. If I unplug the secondary screen my correct Primary Dell screen back and everytime i try to plug in the second back in it still only shows in setting the secondary and wioes out again the Primary.

This is the second time this has happened and ONLY WHEN I START FS2020. This only started after the last update. Drivers are up to date. AMD.

Any suggestions? I even went out and quickly bought a new secondary screen. All looked great. Dual Monitors working sep

I understand you are in a pickle, @polyefko, but I fail to see how your post relates to my problem? Maybe you should make your own thread. I can see how your setup is somewhat similar to mine, that we both have to screens, but the similarities of your post and the topic in my OP ends there.

You're just asking for trouble with your current setup. If you MUST watch YouTube videos while flying the sim, then use a smart TV (instead of a dedicated computer monitor) as your second monitor. Connect the YouTube monitor via WiFi or Ethernet to your router (instead of connecting it to your computer) and then use the TV's own internal YouTube app to decode and display the YouTube stream. In other words, make the sim and YouTube completely independent of each other. The way you're set up now -- with the computer graphics card running both flight sim and YouTube videos (as well as sucking up twice as much internet bandwidth of course), you're always going to have problems, regardless of how powerful your computer is.
