September 8, 20205 yr So, continuing on from the headland behind St Tropez lots of wonderful little towns and villages along this coast. Well, you'd be crazy not to use it if you could . . . I didn't know anything about the next place that caught my eye. Turns out to be something called Les Salins-d'Hyères, a salt marsh that was used up till 1995 for salt production, but is now a wildlife sanctuary, I think. Looks beautiful in the bright mediterranean light, I could happily doze there with a book and a bottle for hours. I think (I wasn't really concentrating on the map) this is the Cap de l'Aigle at La Ciotat, about two thirds of the way between Toulon and Marseille. A rather striking place with some fine views down the coast So, the light is beginning to go as I approach Marseilles Time to put down for the night Current plan is to travel on a bit further towards the only little bit of this area I've actually visited in RL, around the Camargue. If I get there and it looks good I'll post another session tomorrow.
