September 12, 20205 yr I'm posting this purely in the hope it may help someone with an old system - not for you guys with massive NASA quality rigs. It's been a tough old ride getting MSFS to work well on my old i5 4690k PC, and I've been seriously contemplating a new PC. However note - I do have an overclock to 4.4GHz and 32Gb RAM as well as a GTX1080 Ti and a 2k monitor. Note - I am running MSFS from a mechanical 7200rpm drive and Windows 10 Pro v 1909. This is a synthesis of many things I have found on YouTube and on this forum and my own experience, so some of the below may be familiar. I am retired and sadly money does not grow on trees for me, so I feel have now a good balance of settings that look amazing visually, and minimise (but not completely eliminate *&^%^) stutters. This is only from my experience on a windy flight in the back country of Ireland (Eire) in the DA62 from Cork to Galway. I can only say it was breathtaking in a way that P3D rarely if ever is.. Your experience will amost certainly vary e.g. at Heathrow or JFK in the A320 etc. I haven't dared try those yet. I do think this would work for anyone with an elderly PC wanting to try Ryans PNG bush flights though (Search on YouTube for Missionary Bush Pilot - he's amazing, and he's a flight sim enthusiast I think).
