September 14, 20205 yr I've alluded to it in threads a couple times recently, but to bring it up explicitly: there seems to have been a lot of confusion recently regarding the rules around linking to external sites. My understanding of the policy had long been that it is not allowed to link directly to storefronts but other links are fine, with additional terms for commercial members. But there seem to be some folks who believe that no external links at all are allowed, and others who aren't sure what the rule is and are hesitant to contribute because of that. May I humbly request that we get clear statement of the rules and expectations about that up in the rules and policies tab at the top of the page, alongside the screenshot rules, signature rules, etc? I think that would make it a lot easier for folks to get a clear understanding of whats allowed and contribute with confidence while also reducing the amount of off-topic content debating the rule in threads.
