Thrustmaster Hotas X

I have had this joy stick for sometime and use it  in P3Dv5hf2,Xplane 11.50 and now MSFS2020

The Roll function works but does not centre anymore
My planes are flyable but not so easily controlled-have to work  at it!

Is this a joystick fault-it is quite an old stick

Or is there something I could try to correct this

All other functions of stick are good -pitch,yaw etc
