November 6, 200619 yr Hello,I posted this problem already at simhq: http://www.simhq.com/simhq3/sims/boards/bb...;f=101;t=003065But I thought I might have more luck finding people with the right knowledge here. This is what I saw today:http://home.germany.net/100-499937/FSX/car...icle_glitch.jpg2 of 4 kinds of baggage carts are "diving" into the ground.I found the vehicles that have the problem already. The vehicles are configured within this directory:..Microsoft Flight Simulator XSimObjectsGroundVehicles..Those are the ones:veh_air_bagcart1 -> this one is okveh_air_bagcart_flatnosed -> this one is okveh_air_bagcart_blue_sm -> diving into the groundveh_air_bagcart_flatnosed_gray_sm -> diving into the groundAs I don't know how to find out the right values for the contact points in the sim.cfg files in those directories, I'm looking for help here now. Perhaps someone knows how to check the models and get the right values for the contact points? It would be great if this glitch could be solved easily. Thanks in advance,TheJedi
November 6, 200619 yr Update:I corrected one of the two vehicles that were off now.veh_air_bagcart_flatnosed_gtay_smbefore, with these values in the sim.cfg: [[contact_points]]wheel_radius=2.08static_pitch=0.0static_cg_height=1.995looked like this: http://home.germany.net/100-499937/FSX/car...icle_glitch.jpgCorrection can be achieved by changing the values to: [[contact_points]]wheel_radius=2.4static_pitch=0.0static_cg_height=3.2Result: http://home.germany.net/100-499937/FSX/car...1_corrected.jpgNow I'll try to get veh_air_bagcart_blue_sm working.
November 6, 200619 yr Update 2:Second vehicle fixed.veh_air_bagcart_blue_sm Using these values in sim.cfg: [[contact_points]]wheel_radius=2.38static_pitch=0.0 static_cg_height=3.1gives this result: http://home.germany.net/100-499937/FSX/car...2_corrected.jpgI still don't know why MS screwed these values, but now it's working fine.
November 6, 200619 yr Thanks for the heads up. :) John Rig: Gigabyte B550 AORUS Master Motherboard, AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT CPU, 32GB DDR4 Ram, Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super Graphics, Samsung Odyssey wide view display (5120 x 1440 pixels) with VSYNC on.
November 6, 200619 yr It would be great if you could put this in the Tips and Tricks forum as this will eventually get lost. Also, what airport was this "sinking" seen at? Does this fix the problem at all airports? Thanks.Best regards,Jim
November 6, 200619 yr I had the problem on all airports. It was only dependant on the cart model, not on the airport.I tested it at several US airports (for the blue variant) and on several Airports in Europe (mainly Germany, but also Charles-de-Gaulle and Heathrow).I'll add this to the Tips and Tricks, good idea.
November 8, 200619 yr Edit: Deleted original message.Update:In the file I uploaded, the directory name is given with"VEH_air_bagcart_FlatNose_Gray_sm" instead of"VEH_air_bagcart_FlatNose_Gr[/i]e[/i]y_sm"in both the file structure and the readme.txt.This is no problem as long as you copy the sim.cfg into the right directory. The sim.cfg itself is alright and has the right spelling.Question: Should I update the file or should I leave it as is?
