Need help with exterior views

I have setup the interior views to be able to pan around with my hat switch on my Logitech 3D joystick Extreme, and that is working very smoothly, but can't seem to be able to do it for the exterior views. Can anyone help with this? I can get the view to change to say the right, but if I let goof the hat switch, the view snaps back to looking ahead.
