Sometimes, the buildings and the surrounding scenery have a whitish look. The brown color of the desert is whitish. What causes this? Is there a setting that automatically creates this issue?

I think the washed out buildings makes them more realistic. I don't want to have vivid colored buildings. That would make it cartoonish.
