October 3, 20205 yr Well that was an interesting ending to a flight. I'm coming into an airport I've never flown into and it's night. My G1000 starts acting up (cannot change barometer setting and then any change doesn't work). Autopilot is still following the flight plan but I can't follow ATC instructions with it on. So, reboot the G1000 and still nothing. Well, time to take matters into my own hands and fly this approach by hand. Wasn't the best but I got down safely. What's funny is about 2 minutes before I landed, I hear 'TAWS system test complete' and the dang thing is working again! Well too late. Due to the lovely VFR map issue, I couldn't bring it up. However I have Navigraph charts so used that to help. Anybody else had this happen? This doesn't appear to be the same as the whole G1000 being shut down by somebody else (solved that with the generic planes change). Just found it interesting.
October 3, 20205 yr Sounds like a problem several are reporting. Parts of the the G1000 freeze up, including speed and altitude tapes.
