October 9, 20205 yr Hello all, After many, many months of weighing the pros and cons I decided to purchase most of a system today. My Alienware aurora r5 nears end of life and it was time to upgrade. Surprisingly my older daughter (12) is very keen to help assemble the new tech which was a big encouragement to get going! I purchased the following: i7-10700k, MSI MPG z490 gaming plus, Corsair 32-3200mhz, Phantek P500A case and 2x 1200rpm 140mm be quiet fans and 1X 1600rpm 140mm fan as well as a be quiet dark rock slim cooler. I went into the store 100% sure on the cpu and memory. The salesman talked me through the cooling and motherboard. In all of the excitement and to be honest the overwhelming feeling of spending that kind of money the power supply was forgotten. I got home and started researching the air cooler and now realize that it’s not used much for such a high power cpu. I’m wondering now about upgrading it to a bigger air cooler or possibly swapping it for an AIO cooler. As you can tell the fan purchases were made with an air cooling plan in mind. The case also comes with 2x 140mm fans. Hopefully some of you would be willing to help me out by offering your opinions. I currently only fly p3dv4 and mostly the pmdg planes as well as the q400 with some GA and the rxp GTN750. I have MSFS but it hasn’t had much use. I’m hoping to get P3Dv5 eventually as well as the FSL A320. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your time.
