MCDU - Delete waypoint

Featured Replies

I'm using the FlyByWire mod. I've somehow gone and entered a point in the middle of my flight plan. So make me double back. How can I delete it?

Or do I need to start again?

The reason nobody is helping you is because you asked way too nicely.  I don't use the MCDU so I can't help you, but, if you would have said something like.......

"The A32NX MCDU is a piece of junk.  It won't even allow you to delete an extra waypoint.  What a piece of junk."

If you would have worded it that way, several folks here would have responded on how to do it just so they could prove to you that the MCDU is not junk and to tell you that you are the word not allowed one.

OK, that was sort of a tongue in cheek response, but it really is surprising that no one is helping you out here.  And in reality, those who criticize MSFS get far more attention than someone asking for help.

OK.  From Google.

Click on F-PLN scroll till you can see the waypoint you want to delete with the up/down arrows. (Up is down for some reason) Press the CLR button till you see CLR in the bottom left. Then press the left button next to the waypoint you want to delete. Waypoint should be deleted.

So I tried that on the A32NX and it worked.  The last step was to click the TMPY-INSERT button that shows up bottom right of MCDU after you click the waypoint.  Hope that's what you were looking for.

I hear ya!

To me it's a game. I love flight and love learning how it works. I love the scenery this thing offers. If I wanted the real thing.. well I should go get it and fly!!

My expectations for a $100 game clearly aren't the same as others who expect the same a commercial Airbus Simulator costing millions and is used for pilot training.

I've already got my monies worth here. I love it.

Unfortunately, there are indeed some waypoints that CANNOT be deleted.

This is especially frustrating when it comes to the approach phase of a flight, and ATC gives you a runway and approach/STAR that is different from what may have already been programmed into the FMC. When you try and input the new runway/STAR, typically the FMC creates a 'User' waypoint that is most times the last waypoint you passed, and the a/c now turns around and heads back to this 'User' waypoint. As of this time, this 'User' waypoint cannot be deleted. It is a known issue, and has been discussed at length both in these forums and the Official FS forum. Hopefully it will be addressed soon.

Stay safe.
