October 16, 20205 yr So far this during this late summer and fall I have read Jack Broughton's 'Thud Ridge' and 'Going Downtown' followed by Stephen Coonts' 'Flight of the Intruder'. Currently I am reading Jack Broughton's 'Rupert Red Two', an auto biography. Waiting to be read again is Chuck Yeager's 'Yeager'. After being on the shelf for a couple years or more books are renewed. They are different because you have changed. You have more life experience. You have self educated a bit more. Your attitudes and outlooks have shifted a bit. Your view of the world has changed. You might even have become a bit wiser. And old books become new books again. So when you read a book for the second time it takes on new meaning. Parts you thought important then are less important now and vice -versa. And a passage that relates to a life experience now makes you say, "Oh, yeah!" In this period of sequestration I am looking forward to taking off the shelf Michener's 'Chesapeake' and 'Centennial'. And Clavell's 'Shogun' and 'Noble House'. In some respects being homebound has become somewhat of a blessing. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
