October 29, 20205 yr I save the game every 10 minutes in case the game crashes. Well, tonight it crashed. After reloading my saved file (.FLT), the weather went from this: To this: The weather menu is grayed out and unselectable. So by loading a saved flight, it goes from Live Weather to clear skies and no weather. Weather also cannot be changed in the World Map menu: I've tried everything I can think of to restore Live Weather (or any weather) back to a saved flight. I even tried editing the .FLT file to add "True" to where it references Live Weather: [Weather] UseWeatherFile=False UseLiveWeather=True WeatherPresetFile= WeatherCanBeLive=True CloudmapPosOverride=False CloudmapInitialPosX=0 CloudmapInitialPosY=0 FixedClouds=False Does anyone know of a fix or workaround? As it stands, there is no possible way to finish a flight with any weather if the game crashes. I reported this to Zendesk. No response in 3 days. Apparently it's been a problem since release, with no fix in sight. Completely poor quality by Microsoft. Edited October 29, 20205 yr by NightOfDreams

There's nothing wrong with my system, games randomly crash all the time and in a flight simulator, with flights taking multiple hours, you should be able to pick off right where you left off if the game crashes. The restoring weather issue above also applies if I save a flight and resume later. I can't change the weather to anything else other than clear skies. This mostly defeats the purpose of a save function. Edited October 29, 20205 yr by NightOfDreams
October 30, 20205 yr Author Due to lack of responses, it's obvious that no one cares about restoring a flight after a CTD. I read about CTDs all the time, including resulting from today's patch. It's not our systems' fault, it's the game's. I've never had CTDs in any other games other than flight simulators. So what does everyone else do when their game crashes on a long flight, just exit and say "oh well"? If I can't be guaranteed to complete my flight from start to finish because of random CTDs, and because of the the p*ss poor user interface design, then I really don't see the point of anything in this sim except for short VFR flights.
