November 14, 20205 yr https://sourceforge.net/projects/equalizerapo/ Shaping audio is usually done by apps. Both input and output (microphones and earphones). The most popular app is Equalizer APO. You can set up to 18 filters, equalizers, and such, but only two will work wonders. A single 31 band equalizer and a volume adjust. The preamplification (volume) knob was added mainly for a quick test of whether the app is currently being used and doing anything. Left side of the curve turns up bass engine rumble, the right side brightens up the 'presence' at the high frequencies. A different shape in the curve is easily made for every pair of ears or headphone. Sometimes people find Equalizer APO stops working a few days later (not doing anything to the sound). A common cure is in the top menu: Settings, Reset All Global Preferences, where a couple mouse clicks will hopefully automatically restore it to working in about 10 seconds. Other fixes for the same problem are rarely needed, but found here: https://appuals.com/how-to-fix-equalizer-apo-not-working-on-windows-10/ I don't like the add-ons for E APO, such as the very popular Peace. They seem to stop the app from working or spoil things almost as often as they help. Simple works better for me. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel.
