Tom Ruth's Boeing 727 virtual cockpit

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm in love with the 727!

In P3D v4 I fly TDS and Tom Ruth's models.

Unfortunately there is a bug in TR's VC with the compass.

It is fixed on North.

Does anyone know how to fix it?

Thanks!

Did you consider replacing that compass with a different one from a different aircraft like the default 737 or something?

Yes, the point is that I have no clue how to do it in a VC.

If you can find the compass entry in the panel.cfg VC compass entry it should be no different from a 2d panel edit.

The TR 727 I think uses a collection of 2d panel overlays to create a VC. Basically, it isn't molded into the aircraft model. Doesn't have 3d texture bitmap like Carenado or A2A or other payware VCs do.

In fact, the older 2d VCs are editable with FS Panel Design Studio.

If you get good at that a great upgrade for any 727 and used on some IRL would be the CIVA-IV A. Available from Simufly.

The Delco Carousel IVA was the predecessor to FMS and GPS systems. In fact, modern FMS systems still use INS reference as part of their navigation data.
