Has anybody had any recent experience re-downloading the Airsimmer 320 from their website via your flight 1 account? I have recently tried to get it going but my anti-virus software doesn't like what's inside the files at all.

Flight1 uses an encryption package called Themida in its wrapper to obscure the code...unfortunately hackers also use Themida to mask malicious code.  A number of anti-virus programs will flag anything encrypted by Themida--not because it's necessarily malicious, but because the AV program just can't tell.

So you have to decide if you trust Flight1's files enough to override your AV for the installation.

I'm not sure how much flight 1 has to do with the actual download, they seem to provide the purchase authorisation but you have to download the file directly from the air simmer website. I suspect this website hasn't been touched in a while so probably is unsafe, so I think i'll leave it alone!

 

 

Flight1 built the wrapper that's used to encrypt the files and to provide the point-of-sale support to unlock it.  If you buy, for example, one of the RealityXP Garmin add-ons, the file is downloaded from RXP's website, but that file was built by Flight1, with the RXP software esconced inside the F1 wrapper.  When you run it, Flight1's e-commerce system executes the purchase transaction and then provides the authentication necessary to unwrap (decrypt) the software and install it.

I have decided against getting a new file from the air simmer website due to "potential"risks.

However I do have a old copy of the installer file from 10 years ago but when I click on it the installer doesn't run.

Is there something you need to do with windows 10 to get FS9 aircraft to install as none of my disks from any add-on aircraft seem to install?
