December 12, 20205 yr Hello, On the PCB board, how do you tell the anode and the cathode ends of a SMD diode? My PCB has a silk screen marking of a rectangle with one end rounded and other end sharp corners. Which end is the cathode?
December 13, 20205 yr Author Thanks, I have the symbol on the left, but which end is the negative? the top rounded/chamfered end or the bottom/square end?

All these are the examples of the ambiguous marking that shouldn't be used😁. Cathode (negative) at the top, anode at the bottom. BTW, this is the very first picture that comes out (with the extensive explanations) if you search for "smd diode marking pcb" in Google. Much faster than waiting for the answer in the forum...
