What Do You Think About Flight Deck 4 for FSX?

Featured Replies

I've seen a somewhat glowing article about it Computer Pilot magazine a few months ago(probably for FS2004), and then to the contrary I've seen some extremely negative posts about it on various forums, including those in the AvSim forums. Has anyone tried it after the upgrade to FSX? If so, is it worth giving it a try? Or is it still not ready for prime-time?

Hi. I am wondering the same thing. I want a "real world" opinion of a real user, not some canned review for selling the product. I hope some that have it will give us their real opinions. I am tempted to buy it but want some real opinions. Regards, Bob.

Thankyou for the info on the upgrade TonyPiech, i did'nt realise there was one, i now have some military jets in FSX at last.I'm not going to go into an indepth report here, all i can say is that i find FD4 fun. The steam spouting from the flight deck of the USS Ronald Reagan is quite nice & the planes are interesting as well, quite a mixed bunch. For me though the SH-60 Seahawk helicopter is what swings it, i love that aircraft, i spent over an hour practising to fly that thing having given up previously with the default helicopters in FS9 & flying her in FSX is simply beautiful. As for the difference between FD4 in FS9 or FSX, i personally find it more satisfying in FSX. I'm not saying that this is a PMDG standard program it's not, but like i say i find it fun, try taking off then landing a Cessna C172SP on the USS Ronald Reagan. (white knuckle time)My hat goes off for the guys at Abacus for the free upgrade from FS9 to FSX which incidentally installs itself well done!I'm going to upload a few pics to give you an idea of what to expect, i apologize for the small size.1 Seahawk FS9.3 Seahawk FSX.4 Seahawk FSX hovering above the USS Ronald Reagan.Sorry ignore attachment 2
