December 22, 20205 yr I think that all of us, who have the ORBX Milford scenery for FSX/P3D, have tried to land at Quintin Lodge’s narrow airstrip. I have started doing this with a Cub, then a 172 and finally with the An 2 Anushka. Although she is fairly big, she is also very slow, which gives you sufficient time to line her up properly. When Milford was released as freeware for MSFS, Quintin Lodge was missing from that package. This has changed recently with a separate download for this airstrip. The developer suggested why not try to land there with the default TBM 930 for a change. As the TBM is my favorite aircraft in MSFS, this is exactly what I am going to try this time. The buildings at the end of the strip are a bit oversized, but the landing area itself is quite nice At the freeware Milford Sound airport What I really like with MSFS is the fact that you can use a drone and freely move around your aircraft or any other position you are in at the moment. So here I explore a small harbor near the airport Ok, let the adventure begin Sh...t, I'm coming in too fast My goodness, everything happens so bloody fast. To make it short, I didn’t succeed. One reason was my speed, then I was not properly lined up (too far to the right, trees would have clipped my right wing and thrown my around) and the last reason was that in all my excitement I forgot to lower my landing gear.😡😡 Sooo, second attempt, final phase, I’m a lot slower, gear is down, everything seems to be fine Flare, Bernd, flare. Oh, shut up!! Phew…As I said, the buildings are too big for this place. But as the MSFS SDK is still in its infancy, I trust that over time, this will be changed Shall we try to get out again? The trees at the end are a bit tricky, so you better navigate around them, meaning, as soon as you are airborne, throw the plane to the left. 😉 Thanks for viewing Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080
