AI Aircraft for FS9 in FSX

Featured Replies

Hello. I'm hoping someone can answer this for me.I am going to be installing FSX soon and I was wondering if the AI aircraft designed for FS9 work correctly in FSX.Specifically the Aardvark and (the other big one for awhile-can't remember the name right now) aircraft. Also if the traffic files that were created for FS9 work properly in FSX as well. I know some of the directory structure has changed but I don't know if the traffic files themselves has changed. If anyone has any info on this I would be very curious. Thanks!

Check out www.world-of-ai.com .... freeware AI for FS9 AND FSX... will install into either or both.

Hi Carob:I will try to answer you, the way I did mine, I have Ultimate traffic, and I use with the program, lots of other AI ACFT, like FSP, PAI ect....Now I moved all the AI aircraft to FSX and put it under folder SIMOBJECTS in a special folder that I called AI AIRCRAFT.Now I copied the trafic .bgl to the same place as FS9( in FSX under sceneryworldscenery. All the traffic.bgl from FS9 are recognised in FSX. Then I went to FSX.cfg and under [MAIN] I added the followings:SimObjectPaths.7=SimObjectsAI Aircraft, now the number 7 might be yours at 6 just check what is your last number of the simobjects.Voila it work, because I have FS9 still on my machine and the traffic.bgl is still working from FS9.The AFCAD from FS9 don't work in FSX, so you will have planes, parked all over the place, but at least you have them.Hopr this helpRegardsWalouigi

But does it have to be done that way? Can't the aircraft be stored in the usual place and FSX automatically recognise them there?Or were you just tring to prevent having duplicate copies of the same thing scattered on the drive?

Hi ThereI am a long time user of AI Aardvarks and Evolve AI and FSPainter's AI products. They are without equal in the AI world, forget UT, PAI or any other tinpot products unless you like poorly made cardboard cut-outs. Sorry to ramble but yes it's really quite simple. Move or copy your FS9 AI aircraft into the simobjects folder and copy the relevant .bgl into the worldscenery/scenery folder and they work just fine. For me it's a dream come true, we have the best AI products out there (AIA, EvolveAI and FSP) and now a sim to match their quality...er if only they can fix the fps issue and various other bugs in FSX.
