Bug?: GS flag not removed on LPV

Featured Replies

I have setup everything for the default C172. I am very satisfied with its behaviour, but
I think I found one small bug: On a LPV approach on GNS1 and CDI/VDI1, the GS flag does not disappear, while the CDI and VDI needles behave correctly.

That is how I remember it from the real thing.

I checked with the initial check screen of the 530, according that screen the GS flag (VFLG) should be "Out of Vew" during that test, but it remains visible.
Still need to do an ILS and see what happens then.

When there is a active ILS signal available the GS flag is not visible.

When there is no active ILS signal the GS flag is visible even if the GPS indicates in the check screen it should be out of view.

It looks like te GS flag is controlled by having an active ILS signal instead of controlled by the 530 itself. The 530 should control the GS flag  not the ILS signal o its own.

There are a couple of things inter-related:

- XP11 override is not letting plugins controlling the flag. It seems some aircraft are also showing a flag when they shouldn't, or the reverse.

I'm not even sure it is a bug in itself inside XP11, I believe it is an oversight there could be plugins "overriding" the signals.

You can try changing the dataref the ILS indicator is using and choose the RXP datarefs for example, if you can program this on your end (the gauge is in LUA script or the 3D model is using a dataref you can manually edit in the .acf/.obj files.

- GNS can be configured with V-Flag Declutter mode as well, like IRL. You might want to try this one out too.

I will check in more detail this weekend.

Where can you do that? I could not find it in any of the aux menu's and also not in the official manual (rev K)

It is only in the installation manual (rev K) page 5-17. But for that you need to get it into Configuration mode via "press and hold the ENT key
and turn the unit on.". That can not be done in the trainer itself, Can it be done in X-Plane?

Please look at the RXP GTN User's Manual p13:

Settings > Aircraft Flight Manual Supplement (AFMS)

You can configure this with the RXP GUI Settings!
