Video goes black in 2d intermittently..

Featured Replies

I getting an intermittent 2d video blanking. The pic below shows VC with PFC displayed (I clicked on it) as blank with some white noise. The entire 2d display is like that. This occurs 5 or 10 minutes after I start flight and occurs with all add on planes. It will eventually correct itself, but might occur again during later stages in the flight. (intermittent). I cannot remember it occurring with default planes. I assume this is video driver issue? I changed my ATI drivers from 6.10 back to 6.7 and have tinkered with all the Catalyst Control panel settings including AA and AF; no changes. Is anyone else experiencing this? Had the same problem and found the solution in an older FS9 forum.Go to your fsx.cfg file and find the display section.(DISPLAY. for me it is 9800PRO ATI .0)Mode=1024x768x32TriLinear=1Panelastexture=0 <------------------------- Add this lineNow the black (with weird specs) display is gone and the 2D panels and/or popups work good. However, my frames took a two or three hit. One step forward, half step back. : )
