January 3, 20215 yr I am having a problem with a freeware livery downloaded from the library of the 2019 colors of the United Express livery for the Feelthere EMB-175 v2 (n605ux_e175.zip) for P3D v3. The texture seems to be missing something as it is somewhat dark. Screenshots included in the texture pack itself also show this issue. Screenshots below for clarification. The first image is directly from the texture pack. The second and last images are screenshots from my sim. How can I edit or convert the textures to make them appear like the textures in the last image? The two above issues show the darkness of the texture when in the light. Almost as if the texture is not reflecting the light. Photo of another freeware texture for the same aircraft included for comparison.

I just copied the _spec and _bump images from a working texture to the one in question and it now looks as expected!
January 3, 20215 yr Yes, indeed this is a problem of the specular map. My advice is to always copy such 'additional' texture files from the default liveries of an aircraft model whenever you are installing a livery from an older version of a model. In the case of the Embraer, the liveries were created for the FSX version of the plane, and while the model's UV maps have not changed (which is why the livery will still display correctly) other things may have changed. That said, in this particular case it's more likely that the specular maps are fine, they were just missing. Normally, these liveries come with a texture.cfg file, which tells FSX or P3D where to look for any textures that may be missing from the livery's folder. Although the texture maps themselves usually don't change if the model has stayed the same (as is the case for these Embraers), the texture.cfg often does, because the folder structure or folder names are different between the older and newer incarnations of the addon. Hence, the easiest route is usually to copy over the texture.cfg from the house (or default) livery to any news ones that you are installing of which you are unsure if they were done for the older or current version. FYI, it'd be the same for any Aerosoft Airbus X liveries that you'd want to install into Airbus X Extended or even Airbus professional models. The models have stayed the same from version to version, but the folder structure hasn't - and even if the folder structure is the same, names of the files and folders may be a little different, which will then break the texture.cfg.
