fsx screenshots link with 1M photo scenery

Those are nice. Care to clue us in on where they are from and what product it is?

well...it looks like flight simulator x....i may be mistaken...

FSX with the new VFR England package, by the look of things.....

Looks great indeed. But I have to say that photo-sceneries in general scares the #### out of me. My brain frequently reminds me that if I get down to a certain level where the texture detail is exhausted, everything turns into crap and the illusion is lost. It's probably just me though.

Those shots are almost certainly taken with the England and Wales VFR scenery (Horizon Simulations). The scenery is stunning. Don't worry, even at low level the textures do not become completely blurred. The effect is quite extraordinary.Flying in Snowdonia with the autogen demo is unbelievable (there will be an autogen add-on for the whole country in April).Best regards, Chris

Oooops....double post....

Hello, Gotta say it looks like good stuff! Is their a video provided for this scenery also, by any chance? I would love to see how it looks in motion!Chris

For a video, go to:http://www.horizonsimulation.com/shopuk/in...products_id=213Cheers,Noel.Um, just a postscript. The video does not do the scenery justice, as on my system at least the video is not anything like as sharp as the actual in-game performance. Install the demo and check it out on your own system.Be aware that autogen is planned for a later date, but really I wonder why. The great thing about this approach is that autogen is really unnecessary when you have such high resolution images. So you can turn autogen off and enjoy the higher frame rates. Also be aware that there are still some technical problems with this package, although most of the stuttering issues people were experiencing appear to have been resolved. I recommend reading the forum at Horizon Simulations for details. Most people will have seen that a similar package is under development by Just Flight but this has not yet been released.

Sweet! Thx for the link Noel.Chris,

Frame rates are still good and it runs amazingly smoothly. If you're flying at a few thousand feet, then, yes, you probably don't need autogen. But at a few hundred feet it brings the world to life. Have you tried flying through the flocks of birds over some of the lakes? Or seen the eagles over the mountain tops? The sharp textures are still amazing - but the autogen is the icing on the cake!Actually, I see the autogen as pretty essential. From low altitudes buildings look pretty bizarre, as if they've been flattened by a huge steamroller. The autogen hides this. Flying over Snowdonia and seeing the three-dimensional trees (vast numbers of trees) and three-dimensional villages nestling among the beautifully-textured terrain is by far the most amazing thing I've experienced in Flight Simulator.Best regards, Chris

That's why I wasn't so keen on the original England VFR for FS9, particularly as I do like to fly low. This new VFR scenery has four times the resolution, which means it can show sixteen times the amount of detail. Here are three shots taken as the aircraft dives at the ground - the last one is almost at treetop level! In the last picture you can still see details such as the roads and even the cars. By the way, the original images were wider-angle, but I had to cut some out to meet the bitmap resolution spec.In reality the impression of detail when flying very low is much better than the last, static, image suggests. It's well worth trying the free flyable demo, which is of the same areas as these shots. It is absolutely stunning.Best regards, Chrishttp://www.kline.demon.co.uk/VFR1.jpghttp://www.kline.demon.co.uk/VFR2.jpghttp://www.kline.demon.co.uk/VFR3.jpg
