February 2, 20215 yr Having successfully completed several flights with the Cessna 208B mod (which included the WT g1000 mod in accordance with the C208 package instructions), I set up a flight this morning to an airport with a non-precision (VOR) approach with weather near minimums. After a nice 1 1/2 hour flight I approached my destination and dialed in the VOR. No CDI appeared - the center needle that would normally indicate radial position wasn't there. I could tune the VOR, set the course (the course pointer was visible), but, no CDI. Without the indicator needle I could not intercept a radial or fly the approach. I've already used the g1000 mod in other aircraft to successfully fly VOR approaches (in the C172 and G36 Turbo). Is this an issue with the C208B Mod or might this be one of those MSFS2020 session fails? Randall Rocke
February 2, 20215 yr Author OK - I STAND CORRECTED! There is nothing wrong with the C208b/g1000 Mod. The problem is the VOR transmitter at the airport I was flying into. I have tested the C208 at other airports w/other navaids and I get a functioning CDI. In the case of the VOR at my original destination, it exists. I can tune it and get a DME reading and ID verification, but no CDI needle. Looks like this is one for Zendesk. Flying for over an hour and not being able to land is a real buzz-kill. From now on, I guess I'll spawn at smaller airport destinations that will require a VOR or NDB approach and test the navaid. If it functions I'll set up the flight. Randall Rocke

I can check the core sim nav data to see how it is defined. Be aware that there are many r/w VORs that have been changed to DME only in recent years.
