AI aircraft error

Featured Replies

OK I have this small problem, and it is the same problem for all of us. Not enough planes for FSX. SOoo I did what I bet a LOT of you did. Grab an AI and run with it. I grabbed the AI Aarvark planes and went to town. Now Here is the problem. As soon as these aircraft hit FL180 or 200 the trim wheels begin to oscillate like mad. The 764 just kinda bobbles up and down, but seems to maintain the altitude, without getting the virtual controller ######. The 732 however, porpoises like there is no tomorrow. 1000 up to 1000 down, controller screaming at you about your excursions. Now how the HECK to I clear this up? Is it in the .cfg or .air file??It is not that I am cheap, (will kinda) but there aren't many payware packs out there for FSX yet. I am leery of buying any of them after my experience with Captain Sim and the 757. I plan to try the Level-D 767 when it gets released for FSX.Please help!!!!Also where can I get my hands on weight and balance info on all Boeing and AB aircraft? The Boeing PDF's are only for airport planning purposes.

Hi,How do you know the trim wheels act this way? You do know that these planes are not designed for the user to fly them, correct?Maybe the solution is to use planes that are meant to be flown by the user.Happy Holidays, Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

I see them turning while I have the engine controls window open. On you second point I would LOVE to fly aircraft designed to be flown by the user, but unfortunately no one has done them yet. Or perhaps you missed the title of this forum. There are not many FSX aircraft out there. Now other than this pitch oscillation these aircraft fly very well. Give it a try!

I'm not sure what to say. You are flying AI aircraft, and I specifically remember reading for some of those (AI Aardvark, PAI, etc.) that they don't fly well by hand. There are a lot of FS2004 aircraft that can be ported over to FSX and fly perfectly. The only problem with most of them, are the gauges. The workaround, which is something we will have to do for a time, is to alias an FSX-compliant panel to that aircraft. For instance, I've flown HJG's DC-8's using a 747-400 panel. No good, I know. But I was just doing proof-of-concept to see how the stretch -8's flew in FSX.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2530 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian

I have doe the DC8 wiht the 744 panel as well, and it is cool until someone builds a panel for FSX. Most of the AI Aardvark aircraft fly really well actually, with the exception of the pitch oscillation on A/P. So far that is the only thing that is wrong with them. The 732 is especially bad. I did try using Opensky's 767's in FSX but to no avail. Any ideas on how to port them over? I'll just use the 738 panel until a working 767 is available. Panels are the least of my concerns. Thanks!

I haven't tried porting in POSKY stuff yet. Wait a minute. I did port over a 757. It worked and flew well, but most of the gauges were old-style and so didn't work. The VC even worked...less a few gauges. To me, the panel is a big part of the whole experience. It would be nice to fly a DC-8 with a DC-8 panel. :) But I'm like you, I will make do with a 747-400 panel for now. After I finish my little scenery project I'm working on, I might take a look at gauge design in FSX. I think it would be neat to make a gauge.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2530 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian
