2D Cockpit views

Featured Replies

OK, I know this has been discussed before but the biggest thread got off topic and there hasn't been a post in it for almost 2 months.First, let me say that I am not comparing 2D and 3D cockpit environments. Both have their benefits and I use both. If available, i will generally use 3D. If there is no VC, I will use 2D with cockpit sideviews. If there are no sideviews, I won't use the panel - plain and simple. Now with FSX, I understand that sideviews no longer exist which makes every single non-vc aircraft in existence completely useless - so much for backwards compatibility. What is the value of being able to import FS9 aircraft when you can't get a decent panel for them in FSX? The vast majority of FS9 aircraft did not have vc's - most POSKY, IFDG... Frankly, I think this move is going to hurt freeware developers because it will now force people to take on panel development and aircraft model development.Ok, done ranting and now for the question:In one of the older threads on this issue someone mentioned that there is a workaround for this. Is this true? Is there a way I can get my sideviews back?
