INVALID LICENSE & FUNCTION FREEZE-UP

Featured Replies

Installed X-PLANE 11, RealSim Gear 430 box, and RealityXP. When we try to run the 430 box, nothing works. When we try to place the 430 data display on the 430 sim box (bezel?), we keep getting an INVALID LICENSE error message and all the buttons and knobs on the 430 sim box stop working - everything just goes dead.

I've spent sever sessions with the tech support folks at RealSimGear and they said they haven't seen anything like this before. We've (phone sessions with tech support) uninstalled and reinstalled everything except X-Plane itself, we've re-validated the license, we've disconnected and reconnected the 430 sim box, we've re-booted the computer, etc., but nothing seems to work - it just keeps showing the INVALID LICENSE message and all the buttons and knobs stop working.

All suggestions welcome!

Hi,

Can you please write down (or post a screenshot) the entire message content showing up in the GNS?

Can you also please post the content of the RXP log files? (See RXP User's Manual for file/path).

Will try to get this to you ASAP. May have to wait till I can connect with RealSimGear tech support to get this, since I'm not sure if I know how to get to that message or not. Thx!

This is probably a really dumb question, but I don't see any way to post the RXP log files, the RealityXP.GNS.ini file, or any of the screen images you requested. The only thing I see is the "Insert image from URL" button below and I don't see how that's going to work for getting the screen caps, log files, etc. to you. Tried Ctl-V and the Paste button for pasting and that didn't work either. What have I missed?

For log files:

  1. Open the file in notepad
  2. Select all and copy (CTRL+C)
  3. Paste into your post (CTRL+V)

As for the message:

I didn't ask specifically for a screenshot/photo, just for the content. Is there any chance you can just type the full message directly in the post as well?

RXP INVALID LICENSE CONTACT VENDOR

Thank you for this.

The log files are not showing anything peculiar about installation or operations. Therefore the most probable cause is your license is just not authenticated on this computer.

Please make sure to download and run the latest e-commerce installer, then enter your F1 account info for the REINSTALL option. This will authenticate your license on this computer.

PS: just to make sure, please don't move or delete the C:\RealityXP folder either.

OK, I'll talk to tech support at Real Sim Gear again, although this is the only computer on which this has ever been installed. We even uninstalled and reinstalled. I may be wrong, but I think he's going to tell me that we've already tried what you're suggesting. I'll let you know after I talk with him. Thanks!

RealSimGear hardware has nothing to do with installing your Reality XP software and re-authenticating your license.

The procedure requires your own F1 account credentials because this is your own license for home/personal use.

Hi, Jean-Luc,

Here's the latest, following another call with Dustin at  RealSimGear tech support. He tried everything you suggested and more. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the F1 credentials as we surpassed the activation limit during troubleshooting this and went through the F1 re-activation process no problem.

Still "invalid license contact RXP" after re-downloading the e-commerce installer and re-Installing. Did not delete the C:\Reality XP folder.

Tried adding rspGNS2-XPL-Setup.exe to the firewall allowed list.

The GNS 430 screen still freezes after one input of the ENT key.

Additional information: this system also has MalwareBytes and Spyware Blaster software installed and running. Dustin checked them and made sure they weren't blocking RealityXP, X-Plane, etc. and that nothing related or otherwise essential had been blocked or quarantined. No issues were found and he also added these to all available "safe' lists inMalwareBytes, Spyware Blaster, Avast Anti-Virus, firewall, etc.

Thanks!
