Hi all.  Just wondered if there were any UK airports that were seeing much multiplayer GA traffic? I keep bouncing around to different to airports, but most seem pretty barren, with everyone seeming to prefer the larger, Gatwick’s and Heathrow’s of this world. I get a kick out of seeing other players taking off, and landing etc, but not so much the big boys. Any airports worth frequenting?

Well, if you go to EGCB (Barton) you'll quite often see me flying around there doing reviews for stuff and it is of course one of the enhanced airports in the sim and has freebie scenery for the surrounding terrain available for it as well, so it looks good. It also benefits from having the (also enhanced) EGGP airport off to the west and EGCC to the south (which has a good payware airport available), so you do see a fair few people flying around the area because of the availability of good scenery and airports, most of which you don't have to pay for.

For aeroplanes which need a longer runway, I use Liverpool and/or Manchester for testing, so you'll see me there too, and when I do that and see Liverpool gets a mix of people operating both GA and airliners in and out of there, because you can take off from there and turn south and you're heading for the Mach Loop, and you do see people going around that.

Barton's normally good because it's had the Asobo treatment. Shoreham usually has one or two knocking about on North or West Europe.

Thanks both. I have flown Barton a few times, but must confess that I find it  a bit of a confusing layout. Mainly, I think, because of the grass runways. I find it difficult in VR, to distinguish what’s what from inside the cockpit. I have been known to think “Sod it”, and just point the nose into wind, and hare across the field 😃
