CPU Advice before upgrading - for VR performance

Featured Replies

Hi, hope I've posted in the right place.

I currently have a 9900k overclocked to 4.9ghz with a 3080. I am using a reverb g2 to run VR and struggled for months to get a decent run on headset.

I recently found that setting motion projection to automatic really helps with some of the stuttering however, it seems to then have bad affects such as flicking menus, plane wings and instruments.

I have openXR set to 70 percent and use ingame settings medium and high.

It seems that it is constantly the CPU that is maxed out and I was reading yesterday that the CPU can also help the stuttering by helping the LOD

Would upgrading to a 10900k and a new board have any noticeable difference to help the constant stutters and flickering in VR?

Thanks

Martin

just from reading this and other forums, It sounds like the 10900 are still stuck with maxing out a core and getting approximately 28fps to 35fps. i have my doubts about the accuracy of the fps, latency stats shown, so i'm still scratching my head over this too
