  1. its a first person shooter but not too complicated. It has a starwars mod which I really enjoy
  2. I prefer meta PC app cabled with q3 (combined with the debug tool and oxrtoolkit) as I seem to be able to squeeze a little more detail from it with similar fps performance to VD. I prefer the look of the meta ASW over the VD spacewarp. As a low fuss option, particularly with slower PCs, i think VD might be the way to go Until the latest sim update, I was having a good time with msfs24 and q3. Now I have a heartbeat like brief pause every second (affecting both meta cabled and wireless VD even in the menus). The other games are running great. DCS and ACEvo look and run beautifully cabled btw - which standalone games do you enjoy? Do you play them multiplayer? I have a great time with contractors online multiplayer.
  3. On the q3, I'm using a bobo halo type headband made for the quest 2 which i modded to fit the q3 (was $30 a couple of years ago). it doesn't have a built in fan. I don't use the face shroud as I prefer to wear it like a pair of sunglasses, hanging off head in front of my eyes. I'm in qld australia and have never had an issue with the headset being too hot, even in summer when it's both hot and humid.
  4. I'm still using a Quest 3 and till now it's been excellent for me in all games However, since sim update 5, I have what looks like a persistent single frame drop per second. It's like there is a framerate mismatch between the headset and sim (both meta app cabled and in VD). I'm guessing others aren't experiencing this as I don't see any other reports of it Other than that, I think the q3 is great, especially for it's features and price
  5. The latest DLSS patch, set to DLAA in the game and using preset K, performs well and looks very close to TAA clarity in the Q3 for me.
  6. i'm using VD and meta link cable. I get the best results in msfs 2024 by using meta link cabled with the Q3 headset at 90hz, then force the meta link asynchronous spacewarp to 30hz. It runs smoother and clearer this way than any other options I've tried. There are some ASW artefacts, but the other benefits of this outweigh the cons for me
  7. i have a left/right mouse buttons and a mouse scroll wheel attached to the joystick grip which I operate with my middle and ring finger while holding the grip with thumb and forefinger. I use the quest 3 hand tracking with my left hand to do all the pointing at switches and dials
  8. whatever we get, I hope it's more up to date than the 2015 (and older) era PG that's in a lot of spots.
  9. there might be another wmr replacement coming too. At the time there was no mention of steam, so I'm guessing it's a different one
  10. i left the insider program because of vr issues, but i wonder if its improved the visibility there too?
  11. ...and if it was indigenous Australians, by now you wouldn't be allowed to climb up anything in the Americas 🤡
  12. ...someone settled the Americas?
  13. you might be right
  14. i love this stuff too 🙂
  15. 🙂 ^ when it comes to yootube, i think CarlosF said it best These days a reddit review will probably provide a more honest response with only a fraction of our live's wasted compared to the tube
  16. it wasn't directed at you jbdb-md80, i was referring to the person making the video
  17. could the video owner in the original post be a little desperate for some yutube cash for content? I'm as guilty as everyone else for being here, but I'm surprised we're even discussing it 🙂
  18. btw, I'm using a 5800x3d and while flying it works fine. In su3 when in the menu with VR it has this bug with quest 3 https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/su3-vr-menu-view-is-broken-position-fixed-to-right-bottom-of-screen-when-quad-views-is-off/721469
  19. Apparently su3 has introduced some vr bugs since su2. If you have HDR on in windows, try it off as that has helped some folk
  20. i think it might be 40 fps + spacewarp from looking at the wobble around the prop. Does vd show raw frames before sw? quite a bit of foveated rendering on right hand side of view (right eye of VR we are watching?) but agree, it's nice to be getting even that 🙂
  21. btw - the above assumes you've installed the meta software in the default location C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics\OculusDebugToolCLI.exe Cheers 🙂
  22. you can do it a few different ways, but one of the more convenient methods is to make a text file and copy the lines below into it. Then rename the file to .bat You then run it before or during the game echo server:asw.clock30 > “TEMP.txt” echo exit >> “TEMP.txt” call “C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics\OculusDebugToolCLI.exe” -f “%~dp0\TEMP.txt” del “TEMP.txt” the meta CLI appears to not be able to start up with the server clock command as a function, but it can read / execute it from a text file, so this batch file temporarily creates a file containing the 30hz clock command which the CLI reads, then deletes the temporary file server:asw.clock30 <--- this is the command that sets the clock and you can type it into the CLI. server:asw.clock18 This also works but makes ASW a bit too wobbly for my liking Just note that using the asw shortcut keys (e.g numpad cntrl +1), restarting the PC, restarting headset, disconnecting headset, will reset ASW to 45hz 30hz ASW will be smoothest if you set the headset refresh to a multiple of 30, such as 90hz or 120hz
  23. since su2 I'm happy with performance, provided I lock the meta link ASW at 30hz. The terrain is very sharp using dlss 4 and the K preset. Locking it at 30 was still jittery in SU1 so they've managed to fix something.
  24. in DCS, the hand tracking (finger pointing) on the q3 is working well enough to enjoy a hardware-less cockpit too.
