So cool.. I've been following the Cheton products... my favorite, but so expensive...and the bezel looks like it belongs on a spaceship (...or an 8)...minor issue. I did see a beautiful RV8 with this equipment at Arlington (EAA). You have to admit this is a very exciting time for innovation in GA avionics. Look at Garmin

It's been said, that Garmin is developing a "cheaper" version of the 1000, possibly called a Garmin 600 for experimentals. We'll see..In the meantime, I do have the Garmin 296, but would like the 396 for it's XM weather data.L.Adamson
